Broadening the Marketplace

We’ve spotlighted some of our major vendors on the blog before, from Lillian August and Swank Lighting to Elizabeth Lyons hand-blown glass, but today we’re paying homage to the smaller tchotkes and what-nots we carry that may just be the perfect accessory you’ve always searched for.

Writes Julia Reed of these cool candle sleeves (above) in her online publication, Fetch: “Kaarskoker, the Dutch word for candle sleeve, is the brainchild of Seattle interior designer April Pride Allison. These cool covers, made of art paper and cardboard, slip over the sockets of chandeliers, lamps, and sconces, and come in heights of four or six inches. Easily interchangeable, they provide a chic shot of color to any room or party.”

This mask is from Goldbug Studio, “whose amazingly talented owner and designer Ashley Carter grew up, not surprisingly, in New Orleans. Her masks are breathtakingly ethereal creations, and the perfect thing for an elegant Mardi Gras dinner or private masked ball,” says Reed.

Made by London’s Wild and Wolf, this hip flask is “covered in snippets of articles and images encompassing two decades of Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly, a much-beloved digest of the golden years of British football. There’s also a matching thermos and travel kit, a handy threesome for the weekend sports wanderer.”

As you can see, we’ve stocked our store with one-of-a-kind finds for that special person who, well, may just have everything already. So stop on by and see us!
